The weeks-long protest at Columbia University finally grew too chaotic even for spineless president Minouche Shafik, and on Tuesday the school mercifully called the cops to clear it out; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to fully destroy Hamas, with or without a hostage-release cease-fire deal; and Harvard law prof Alan Dershowitz and former New York City Council President Andrew Stein warn that radical, antisemitic campus protesters may turn to terrorism as radicals did in the 1960s and '70s. Looks like the weeks-long protest at Columbia University grew too chaotic even for its spineless president, Minouche Shafik, particularly after "protesters" took over a building on the campus, smashed windows, held janitorial staff hostage and terrified Jewish students. On Tuesday the school finally called the cops to clear it out. About time. And once again, New York's Finest proved worthy of their name, carefully and systematically removing protesters and making more than 100 arrests (nearly 300 in total, counting those at City College) — with few serious confrontations or injuries. They are the absolute heroes who deserve deep gratitude from all New Yorkers. Mayor Adams, meanwhile, said "outside agitators" — "professionals" with "training" — had infiltrated the campus, though clearly many sorely misguided students joined in wreaking havoc, intimidating Jews and making it impossible for the school's supposed main activity, learning, to take place. They should've all been cleared out long ago. Read more |

| "The idea that we will halt the war before achieving all of its goals is out of the question," vowed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday. "We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there — with or without a deal, in order to achieve the total victory." That sure was a reassuring message. Reports indicated that Israel, for the first time, was weighing an end to operations in Gaza even if Hamas is not fully destroyed, as part of a deal for the release of hostages. Yet such a premature finale to the war would mark a horrifying defeat for the Jewish state, which has been fighting to completely eliminate Hamas. If the terrorists are allowed to survive this war, they're certain to regroup, rebuild and launch more attacks, perpetuating the endless cycle of bloodshed. For its own survival, Israel can't let that happen. Read more |

Given the ugly, Nazi-like taunts of antisemitic demonstrators ("go back to the gas chambers," "go back to Poland," "globalize the intifadah," "Zionists don't deserve to live") — and their willingness to snub authorities, defy laws, take over buildings and inflict misery on others — it's not too much of a stretch to imagine their outright turn to terrorism, as Harvard law prof Alan Dershowitz and former New York City Council President Andrew Stein (D) warn. Some of the radicals may form their own antisemitic, anti-Israel groups, as when, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, "American supporters of terrorism became terrorists themselves, including students, professors and university graduates." Those today claiming "we are Hamas" may act as lone wolves or establish actual ties with the terrorist group. Indeed, Hamas operatives may already have snuck in to the United States, thanks to President Biden's wave-them-in border policies. And get this: His administration is now considering allowing Gazan refugees in (even as Arab countries have refused to take them). "It is almost certain that Hamas operatives are planning terrorist attacks in the United States," Dershowitz and Stein believe. Brace for serious trouble on US soil in the not-too-distant future.
